The Catholic Foundation in the Archdiocese of Dubuque (CFAD) is excited to announce the beginning of the inaugural discretionary grant program! The St. Katharine Drexel Grant provides funding assistance in the 30 counties of the Archdiocese of Dubuque to Catholic parishes, schools, apostolates, associations, ministries, or other organizations which operate under the jurisdiction of, or further the mission of, the Archdiocese or the universal Roman Catholic Church.
CFAD looks for areas that multiply charitable resources for maximum benefit to our Catholic community and/or sustains a vibrant Catholic faith through the Works of Mercy and/or evangelization efforts to grow the faithful to bring people closer to Christ and His Church. CFAD encourages eligible entities with new projects that fit this criteria to apply for funding to aid your project.
Our Catholic community meets the spiritual and basic needs of the souls entrusted to it in many ways. As our community changes, we too appropriately adapt to how we meet those needs, which often may incur new costs that are not budgeted. We also know sustainability is important, and endowments and legacy planning help with that. Those looking to grow these efforts in new ways may also apply.
Grants will be reviewed and awarded to selected organizations that provide a clear vision for their project and the impact it will have. Grant requests may not exceed $10,000. Applications must be completed in accordance with the grant application form, including all attachments. Applications are due by July 15th at 4 p.m.
In late summer and early fall, CFAD's Grant Committee will review, discuss and recommend grants to the CFAD Board of Directors, who has final discretion on grant decisions and our grant budget. We will notify applicants of funding status in early November.
