LaSalle Catholic Schools – Cedar Rapids received a St. Katharine Drexel Grant from The Catholic Foundation in the Archdiocese of Dubuque (CFAD) for its Early Catholic Family Life Project (ECFL). The grant specifically focuses on establishing this educational and interactive program with new parents and families at LaSalle Catholic Schools.
ECFL provides a series of casual yet intentional faith formation classes for new parents. “This program not only offers the catechesis of eight, two-hour sessions, but the time invested together creates fertile ground for young families rooted in faith to meet and build fellowship with one another,” said Zach Zeckser, principal of LaSalle Catholic Schools.
CFAD’s St. Katharine Drexel Grant helps Catholic organizations in the Archdiocese of Dubuque with new projects that provide a Work of Mercy needed in their area and/or new evangelization efforts to bring people closer to Christ and His Church. Zeckser commented “Our volunteers see how this offering can enrich the lives of families in our parishes with young children even more now that they have been able to learn more about it.”
